The first Axopar 22 just launched in Australia and the team at Eyachts took it for its first test drive, getting up to 42kts after a short use of the 200hp Mercury Outboard.
Joe Fox was immediately blown away by the performance of the Axopar 22 saying, “It’s absolutely phenomenal to drive, it feels like you’re driving a high-powered go-cart when you’re accelerating. It’s really tight in the turns, not losing any grip at all, even when crossing the wake.”
“I was trying to get it to misbehave but I really can’t get it to go wrong. It’s what Axopar said it was, it’s a true drivers boat. It’s great fun to drive and it’s great to have one in Australia.”
The team did not stop there, they needed to test out what Axopar boats are really all about, adventure. If you are familiar with Pittwater you would likely know about the family of seals living on the coast of Barrenjoey Heads, after a quite burn offshore the Axopar 22 ducked by to check out these cute pups of the sea.
The team were also greeted by a school of 20 energetic dolphins, “This is the beauty of an Axopar, slower boats just can’t catch up to dolphins,” declared Marnie.
The adventure wrapped up on our favourite beach, Portuguese. Protected by the elements this quaint bay was the ideal location to beach the 22 and set up a picnic.
“Being a sailor my whole life it is always such a thrill when you get to walk straight off the boat onto the sand. The Axopar 22 is going to be a sure winner, it really has everything for the perfect adventure on the water,” Marnie summarised.
